DeWITT, N.Y. — NBT Bank announced it has hired John Rott as branch manager of its office at 6563 Weighlock Drive in the town of DeWitt.

Rott comes to NBT Bank from KeyCorp, where he served as a licensed relationship manager and branch manager. Before that, he was a licensed banker for both HSBC and First Niagara Financial Group, Inc. as well as a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual Life. In all, Rott brings almost 20 years of management experience, including the past decade in the financial services, according to an NBT Bank news release.

Rott received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbia College of Missouri in Syracuse.

NBT Bank’s parent company, NBT Bancorp (NASDAQ: NBTB), is headquartered in Norwich and has total assets of $9.2 billion as of Sept. 30. NBT Bank has 152 branches in six states, including New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
