SYRACUSE, N.Y. — NBT Bank announced that Margaret Scopelianos has joined the bank as senior VP and director of cash management and government banking.
Scopelianos has more than 25 years of experience in the financial-services industry. She previously was managing director for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s public sector banking division and previously was Treasury solutions executive for Specialized Industries. She also has extensive commercial-banking experience with Wells Fargo and JP Morgan.

The wealth of experience she has developed supporting public entities and businesses with their banking and cash management needs will enhance the services our teams deliver to clients,” Sarah Halliday, NBT Bank’s president of commercial banking, said in a news release.
Scopelianos, a resident of Skaneateles, graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Russian Studies and a concentration in economics. She also completed an international economics program at the University of Exeter in Devonshire, England and speaks several languages.
