People news: NBT Bank promotes Spilka to VP

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — NBT Bank announced that it has recently promoted Jonathan Spilka, commercial banking relationship manager, to VP.

In this position, Spilka is responsible for developing and managing business relationships with commercial customers throughout the bank’s Central New York market. He is based at NBT Bank’s Syracuse Financial Center, located in the AXA Building at 120 Madison St.

Spilka has 17 years of banking experience. He joined NBT Bank in 2013 with NBT’s acquisition of Alliance Bank, where he was a commercial banking relationship manager. Prior to that, he held roles in the Syracuse area that included positions as commercial relationship manager, commercial credit analyst, and branch manager.

Spilka earned his bachelor’s degree in business and public management from the SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome.

NBT Bank has 154 branches in New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The bank and its parent company, NBT Bancorp, are headquartered in Norwich. NBT Bancorp (NASDAQ: NBTB) had assets of $8.9 billion as of March 31.
