SYRACUSE, N.Y. — NBT Bank has announced the promotion of multi-site branch manager Maria Wheeler to assistant vice president.

Wheeler has more than 33 years of branch-banking experience, NBT Bank said in a news release.

She joined NBT Bank in 2017 as branch manager for NBT’s Syracuse Marshall Street office. In 2018, she became a multi-site branch manager and assumed the additional responsibility of managing NBT’s new Clinton Square office.

Wheeler earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Keuka College.

NBT Bank offers personal and business banking, along with wealth-management services, from branch offices in six states — New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.

The bank and its parent company, NBT Bancorp (NASDAQ: NBTB), are headquartered in Norwich. NBT Bancorp had assets of $9.6 billion as of June 30.
