People news: NOCO names director of environmental operations for Syracuse and Albany regions

TONAWANDA, N.Y. — NOCO, a full-service energy company based in the Buffalo area, has announced the appointment of Michael Simmons as director of environmental operations for the Syracuse and Albany regions.

In this new role, Simmons is responsible for the overall management, operational oversight, regulation compliance, and strategic direction of the NOCO Environmental unit in Central and Eastern New York state.

With more than 10 years of environmental-consulting experience, Simmons most recently was a project and compliance manager with Sun Environmental Corp., where he developed customer relations and managed projects from estimations through completion, NOCO said.

Launched earlier this year to expand service offerings, NOCO Environmental offers services including industrial cleaning, transportation and disposal, spill response, tank cleaning, vacuum work, line cleaning, and hazardous and non-hazardous recovery.

NOCO, an energy firm based in Tonawanda, offers a range of services, including energy supply, heating and cooling systems, propane, and motor fuels.
