People news: North Point Defense hires Grisenthwaite as controller

ROME, N.Y. — North Point Defense, Inc. announced it has hired Kay Grisenthwaite as controller.

She is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis requirements of the Rome–based research and development firm, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Grisenthwaite previously worked in various financial-analyst positions in both Rome and Syracuse for the past 12 years, the firm said in a news release. She has experience with large publicly traded firms, nonprofits, and small businesses. Grisenthwaite’s previous employers include Assured Information Security, Exelis (Harris Corp.), Sensis Corp. (Saab), and Syracuse Research Corp., according to her LinkedIn profile.

Grisenthwaite received a master’s degree from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree from Hartwick College. 

North Point Defense says it primarily develops software-focused solutions for the federal government. The firm was founded in 2011.
