People news: NY Funders Alliance hires Ribble as executive director

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The NY Funders Alliance announced it has hired Corinne L. Ribble as its new executive director.

The organization is an association of grant makers and philanthropic advisors that is based in Syracuse at the CNY Philanthropy Center, but covers all of New York state north of the metro New York City area.

Ribble will be responsible for the overall administration and operation of the alliance as well as attracting and retaining new members and increasing its resources.

She replaces Lisa Fasolo Frishman, who left to become a senior program officer at the Health Foundation of Western and Central New York, the NY Funders Alliance tells BJNN.

Ribble, a native of Central New York, previously served as president of the Literacy Funders Network and director of philanthropy at the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. She has also consulted with a variety of nonprofit clients. In her roles, Ribble built a multi-county literacy coalition, assisted community nonprofits with securing $1.5 million for new literacy services, and led strategic planning and board development, according to the NY Funders Alliance.

“Corinne demonstrates a passion for the work of NY Funders Alliance and understands the philanthropic sector through her extensive background in the nonprofit field,” Amber Slichta, president of the NY Funders Alliance board of directors and VP of programs with the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, said in a news release.
