People news: Patricia Civil to lead new SRC Ventures board of directors

CICERO, N.Y. — SRC Ventures, Inc., a holding company for SRC, Inc.’s for-profit subsidiaries, has named Patricia Civil as chairperson of its newly established board of directors.

Civil is a retired managing partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.

SRC, a nonprofit research and development company, is the former Syracuse Research Corp.

Civil spent her career at Coopers & Lybrand, eventually becoming a managing partner. She continued in this role during and after the Coopers & Lybrand merger with Price Waterhouse before retiring from the company in 2002.

In addition to serving as the chairperson of the SRC Ventures board, Civil is also a member of SRC, Inc.’s board of trustees, according to an SRC news release issued Thursday.

Civil also serves on the NBT Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: NBTB) board of directors, where she chairs the audit committee and sits on the executive-compensation committee.

“I’m honored to have been chosen as chairperson for the SRC Ventures board of directors,” Civil said in the SRC release. “The members of the board are established and respected leaders that bring executive-level experience for providing strategic direction and financial oversight of this company. I look forward to working with them all.”
