SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Pinckney Hugo Group, a full-service marketing-communications firm based in Syracuse, has hired Tana Heer as a human-resources director.

Before joining Pinckney Hugo, she served as senior manager for people operations at Bonterra and Network for Good in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Herr was a staffing executive and recruiting manager at Robert Half in Washington, D.C. She also gained experience in recruiting and administration at organizations in New York City and Indianapolis.

Heer holds certifications from the Society for Human Resources Management — senior certified professional (SHRM-SCP) — and the HR Certification Institute — senior professional in human resources (SPHR). She has a master’s degree in human resources from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University at Buffalo.
