People news: Porcello joins Bousquet Holstein law firm

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Bousquet Holstein PLLC announced that Joseph J. Porcello has joined the law firm as senior counsel in its litigation practice group.

Before joining Bousquet Holstein, he practiced for more than 11 years at global law firm K&L Gates LLP. He was in that firm’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office.

Porcello is a commercial lawyer handling cases such as commercial disputes, product liability lawsuits, as well as advising sales managers and teams on marketing and advertising issues, assisting policyholder clients seeking insurance coverage, and negotiating commercial agreements, according to a Bousquet Holstein news release. A focus of his practice involves helping clients in resolving commercial disputes, including through litigation. He has represented clients in contract disputes, false advertising / unfair competition matters, and intellectual-property litigation.

Porcello is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from James Madison University in Virginia. He is a native of Central New York, and he and his family recently relocated back to the area from Pittsburgh. Porcello is admitted to practice law in both New York and Pennsylvania.

Bousquet Holstein has offices in Syracuse, Ithaca, and New York City. The firm says it provides legal counsel in mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, alternative-dispute resolutions, public finance, immigration, economic development, government relations, litigation, commercial bankruptcy, and more. Bousquet Holstein has 43 attorneys, according to BJNN Research data from the firm, as of September 2018.
