SYRACUSE, N.Y. — New lawyer Christopher Powers has joined the litigation and business departments of Mackenzie Hughes LLP and will concentrate his legal practice in health-care litigation, real and intellectual property, and commercial litigation, the Syracuse law firm announced.
Powers spent 11 years working in the communications industry prior to earning his law degree in 2017. His past jobs include assistant managing editor at Data Key Communications and PR account manager at Pinckney Hugo Group, before heading to law school in 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Powers holds a juris doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law, a master’s degree in media management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse, and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the College of Wooster in Ohio.
He currently sits on the board of the Syracuse Sunrise Rotary Club and served as president of the club in 2016-2017. Powers is also a member of the New York State and Onondaga County Bar Associations.
