People news: Powers to join Slocum-Dickson Medical Group

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Slocum-Dickson Medical Group PLLC announced that Christopher P. Powers, D.P.M., will be joining its Podiatry Department on Aug. 1.

As a podiatrist, Dr. Powers specializes in diseases, deformities, and trauma of the foot and ankle, providing treatment by medical and surgical means. He performs surgeries of the foot and ankle and manages acute traumas and infection in those areas. Powers also provides routine medical care for the feet. He commonly treats conditions related to diabetes, such as neuropathy, ulcerations, and diabetic dermatology, the medical group said in a news release.

Powers completed his residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City where he served as chief resident from 2015 -2016. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

Born and raised in the Mohawk Valley, Powers says he is looking forward to returning home to practice medicine, according to the release.
