People news: Rinehart joins Preferred Mutual as chief HR officer

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. — Jenifer Rinehart has been named senior VP, chief human resources (HR) officer of Preferred Mutual Insurance Company.

Rinehart will be responsible for developing and executing Preferred Mutual’s HR strategy including talent acquisition, retention, talent development and succession planning, compensation, and performance management.

Rinehart has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She previously was senior VP of human resources for WEX Inc., a global corporate payments company. She also previously served as VP of human resources for the Homesite Insurance Company, as well as senior VP of human resources for Harleysville Insurance Company. Prior to these roles, Rinehart held a variety of HR positions for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

Rinehart earned her bachelor’s degree from Drexel University and is currently enrolled in the master’s of science program at Drexel. She also has several HR certifications.

Preferred Mutual Insurance says it provides property and casualty insurance coverage to more than 232,000 individual and business customers through a network of more than 490 independent agents throughout New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
