ROME, N.Y. — Rome Health announced it has appointed Dr. Cristian Andrade as its chief medical officer (CMO), effective Monday, Dec. 13.
Andrade replaces former CMO, Dr. Russell Silverman, who will continue to provide medical cardiology to area residents in the hospital’s Dorothy G. Griffin Cardiovascular Center.
Dr. Andrade, a member of the St. Joseph’s Health medical staff for more than 18 years, completed his residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Health. He cared for patients as a hospitalist for many years before accepting progressive leadership responsibilities, most recently serving as VP of medical affairs in Syracuse.
“Dr. Andrade is an excellent physician who provides great care to patients as a hospitalist. He carries that patient-centered focus into advancing overall quality as a leader,” Rome Health President and CEO AnneMarie Czyz, said in a news release.
Dr. Andrade also serves as the medical director of CNY AIM, a clinically integrated network of providers, who are working together on population-health initiatives to improve the quality of care and overall outcomes for the patients in the region.
Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Andrade earned his medical degree at University of Medical & Dental of New Jersey. In 2019, he completed the Advanced Executive Leadership for Physicians training at Cornell University.
