People news: Rome Orthopedics and Sports Medicine adds Trimm as physician assistant

ROME, N.Y. — Rome Memorial Hospital announced that Erica Trimm, a board-certified physician assistant, has joined the staff at Rome Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

She will work with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mitchell Rubinovich and physician assistant Kevin Lynch in the practice, located in Suite 102 of Chestnut Commons at 107 E. Chestnut St.

“We are happy to be able to add Erica to our orthopedics and sports medicine team,” Rosemel Atkinson, VP of physician practices at Rome Memorial Hospital, said in a release. “Erica has the skill and knowledge to capably provide our patients with the quality orthopedic care they have come to rely upon from Rome Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.”

The practice provides complete care of the musculoskeletal system, including the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of injuries to the muscles, bones, joints, tendons and ligaments. Laboratory, x-ray and rehab therapy services are also located near the practice in Chestnut Commons, the release stated.

Trimm earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Canisius College in Buffalo and received a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

Trimm that while working in an orthopedic office as a patient care specialist, she became inspired to work toward becoming a physician assistant.
