SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York announced it has hired Rachel Murphy, of Manlius, as director of communications.

Murphy will oversee the nonprofit’s strategic marketing and communications initiatives, including managing, implementing, and coordinating vendor relationships. She previously worked at Fleet Feet Syracuse in a variety of marketing roles, including most recently serving as marketing director. Prior to that, Murphy was a public relations account manager at Pinckney Hugo Group in Syracuse. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication from SUNY Geneseo.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York operates the CNY Ronald McDonald House — located at 1100 E. Genesee St. in Syracuse — 24 hours a day, year-round, at no cost for families whose children are hospitalized with serious illnesses or injuries.
