People news: Rural/Metro promotes Hogue to CNY regional director

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Rural/Metro Medical Services announced it has promoted general manager Troy Hogue to the position of regional director of Central New York.

In his new position, Hogue is responsible for leading operations in a six-county region that includes Syracuse, Auburn, and the Mohawk Valley.

The duties will include a focus on overall operations, communications, continuous quality improvement, education, scheduling, supply, and fleet management.

Hogue is the “right person” to move the Central New York division forward, Mike Addario, vice president of Rural/Metro’s east operations, said in a news release.

“Troy has vast experience in the ambulance industry at the local, state and national level. He started his career with Rural/Metro, [which was] then [known as] Eastern Paramedics, in 1986 as a senior paramedic and never looked back,” said Addario.

Eastern Paramedics merged with Rural/Metro in 1994, the ambulance-service provider said.

Rural/Metro in 1997 chose Hogue as the Syracuse-area manager and then promoted him to general manager in 2013.

Rural/Metro has serviced the Central New York region since 1953.

With a local staff of more than 300, it responds to more than 65,000 calls annually throughout a six county region of Central New York.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Rural/Metro Corp. provides private ambulance and fire-protection services in 21 states and nearly 700 communities nationwide, according to the firm’s website.
