SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University announced it has appointed Stephanie Salanger as director of communications for the Institute for Veteran and Military Families (IVMF) and the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA).
Salanger brings more than 25 years of national marketing, communications, and media-relations experience to her new role.
“Stephanie will be an integral part of our ongoing commitment to build relationships and communicate our message to our stakeholders, the military and veteran community, and the public. Her wealth of experience is complimented by a keen strategic vision, top-notch communication skills and outstanding leadership qualities. She is going to be a tremendous asset to the IVMF and OVMA as we seek to serve the military and veteran community,” Mike Haynie, IVMF founder and Syracuse University vice chancellor for strategic initiatives and innovation, said in a news release.
Salanger most recently managed corporate communications and community philanthropy for Charter Communications. Her philanthropic efforts include the Connect a Million Minds STEM program and a “groundbreaking,” national AMBER Alert initiative, per the release. She is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo.
