People news: Salvatore joins Empire Center as communications director

ALBANY, N.Y. — Abigail Salvatore has joined the Empire Center for Public Policy as communications director for the statewide nonprofit.

Salvatore succeeds Ken Girardin, who is moving to a full-time role as policy analyst for the Empire Center, the organization said in a news release.

Salvatore, a Suffolk County native, is a 2015 graduate of The King’s College. She previously served as a press officer for state and local policy at the New York City–based Manhattan Institute.

The Empire Center is an independent, not-for-profit, non-partisan think tank, based in Albany. It says its mission is to “make New York a better place to live and work by promoting public policy reforms grounded in free-market principles, personal responsibility, and the ideals of effective and accountable government.”
