NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Jon Schloop has been named senior account manager in the commercial lines division at Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy Inc. (GKG) in New Hartford, the insurance agency announced.
He brings 28 years of experience in the insurance industry and will work with GKG’s largest clients. The appointment marks Schloop’s return to GKG, where he served as commercial lines account executive from 1995-1997. From 1997 until most recently, he was people development administrator for NYCM Insurance in Edmeston, New York, where he was responsible for developing the company’s insurance education and training programs.
Schloop is a 1985 graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance.
Founded in 1904, GKG (gkgrisk.com) says it is one of Central New York’s oldest and largest independent insurance agencies. The firm is headquartered at 210 Clinton Road in New Hartford, from which it serves clients across New York state and beyond. GKG employs more than 35 people and represents more than 80 insurance carriers.
