BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York recently announced that Charles V. Ford has joined the firm as senior VP, asset liability management & treasury.

He will be responsible for providing executive leadership for the insurance company’s integrated asset liability management framework. Ford has expertise in asset-liability management (ALM), investment strategy, and risk management, along with extensive actuarial-modeling experience, according to a Security Mutual news release.

Ford previously consulted on asset-liability management and investment strategy for a startup reinsurer. He began his career at New England Mutual Life and has since served companies including Phoenix Home Life, Sun Life of Canada, Transamerica, and Fidelity & Guarantee Life. He has led teams on actuarial modeling, investment strategy, governance, and reinsurance.

Ford holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics/economics and is a chartered financial analyst.
