People news: Seneca Cayuga ARC announces new board members

WATERLOO, N.Y. — Stella Avcisoy and Marcia Herrling Finch were recently elected to serve two-year terms on Seneca Cayuga ARC’s board of directors.

Avcisoy has been closely affiliated with the agency for 13 years as a parent of a child with autism, according to an agency news release. She has owned her own Ithaca–based business for 25 years and works closely with the Cancer Resource Center, Hospicare, Veterans Affairs, the Tompkins County SPCA, and Cornell University.

A graduate of Wells College, Finch is the administrator of Brew-Finch Funeral Homes, Inc. in Auburn and enjoys volunteering at Matthew House (Auburn), according to the release.

Avcisoy and Finch join current Seneca Cayuga ARC board members Rose Palmieri, president; Jeff Hoffman, vice president; Will Schwarting, treasurer; Mary Pat Harris, secretary; and Peter Crego, Bob Herman, John E. Becker, II, and Tom Ackerley.
