People news: SRC names Corasanti to board of trustees

CICERO, N.Y. — SRC, Inc. has appointed Joseph Corasanti, former president and CEO of ConMed Corp. (NASDAQ: CNMD), as a member of its board of trustees.

Cicero–based SRC, the former Syracuse Research Corp., made the announcement in a news release distributed on Thursday. SRC is a nonprofit research and development company that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence. SRCTec, a for-profit subsidiary, offers manufacturing and lifecycle support for complex electronics systems.

Corasanti served as COO, president, and CEO during his tenure at ConMed, a Utica–based surgical-device maker, before departing in July 2014.

“I look forward to working with SRC and its distinguished board members to help provide direction as the company continues to evolve. I’m honored to be part of such an innovative organization and believe my background and experience can add value as they diversify into commercial and international markets,” Corasanti said in the release.

SRC’s board of trustees, which includes senior executives and industry leaders, oversees the activities of the corporation. The trustees have backgrounds in areas that include government, law, banking, finance, intelligence, and manufacturing, according to the release.
