Virgo will oversee the direction and technical development of SRC’s counter-UAS capabilities that are currently deployed and protecting the nation’s military personnel. Virgo has been with SRC for 33 years and has worked on numerous radar design and development programs as the lead engineer, engineering program manager, and program manager, the company said. He also supports business development, business forecasting, and strategic-planning activities.
Virgo earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Cornell University. Prior to this new position, Virgo was the business area manager for LSTAR air-surveillance radar programs. He also served as the program manager for SRC’s multi-mission radar development program (the predecessor to the AN/TPQ-53 radar), and various communication-systems programs.
