People news: St. Joseph’s Foundation announces two new appointments

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center Foundation has announced two new appointments.

Vincent J. Kuss has been appointed VP for development at the foundation. In this position, he leads the fundraising for foundation campaigns and projects, including the annual gala and the charity golf classic, as well as the hospital’s upcoming 150th anniversary in May 2019. Kuss oversees a team of four people at the foundation, according to a news release.

Kuss brings more than 16 years of health-care and higher-education development experience to the position ranging from annual and alumni giving, capital campaigns, major gifts, fundraising events management, and public and donor relations, according to the release.

For the last three years, he has been responsible for cultivating major-gift “grateful patient prospects” in key service lines and helping manage development operations. That includes completing the St. Joseph’s Generations capital campaign to support the expansion project at its hospital campus in Syracuse.

St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center Foundation has promoted Pamela Kleine to director of special events and annual giving, assuming new responsibilities in her expanded role, including the foundation’s program that provides grants of up to $5,000 to departments throughout the St. Joseph’s Health system.

Kleine, who has been with the foundation since 2010, continues to lead its events and oversee the annual giving initiatives, according to the release.

St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center Foundation’s primary purpose is to raise funds for St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center’s network of services. The foundation’s 25th annual gala will be held at the Turning Stone Resort Casino on Friday, June 3.
