People news: Sterling Insurance appoints McArdle as new marketing director

AUBURN, N.Y. — Sterling Insurance Company announced it has recently promoted Catherine R. McArdle to marketing director.

McArdle has more than 25 years of sales and management experience. She previously held various management positions for several national and super-regional insurance companies, such as Preferred Mutual (2011-2014), Safeco Insurance (2010-2011), and OneBeacon Insurance (2007-2010), per a Sterling Insurance news release.

McArdle joined Sterling Insurance in December 2014 as territory marketing manager for Western New York. She was appointed a corporate officer, assistant VP, in February 2016. She is a graduate of St. John Fisher College.

McArdle will continue to work with Sterling’s Western New York agencies from her home/office in Auburn, in addition to organizing marketing efforts and managing the sales team across the state.

Sterling Insurance provides property and casualty insurance coverage to more than 100,000 individual and business customers through a network of more than 400 independent insurance agents across New York. The mutual insurance company has been in business since 1895 and is headquartered in Cobleskill.
