OSWEGO, N.Y. — SUNY Oswego has appointed Kendra Cadogan as the school’s interim chief diversity and inclusion officer.

Cadogan will also serve as interim director of the Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice.

She started her duties in this role on Thursday, SUNY Oswego said. Cadogan succeeds Rodmon King, who has taken a new job at Connecticut College.

In her new position, Cadogan will be responsible for leading the implementation of SUNY Oswego’s strategic diversity and inclusion goals; coordinating the activities of the Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice; and contributing to the “continued cultivation, enhancement and promotion of an environment of equity and inclusion” for all at the campus, the university said in a release.

She will also serve as a member of the President’s Council and will provide counsel on all matters pertaining to diversity and inclusive “excellence” on campus, SUNY Oswego said.

Cadogan most recently served as SUNY’s senior associate for program and policy evaluation. In that role, she provided leadership for systemwide scholarship and fellowship initiatives including creating program policies, creating/improving infrastructure and providing guidance on best practices to help campuses recruit, retain and graduate academically talented, underrepresented minority students.
