SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Crunch have promoted Mark Hayes to senior director of revenue and partnership development and Jonathan Smaldon to senior director of group sales, Crunch owner Howard Dolgon announced Thursday.

Hayes, 33, has been with the minor-league hockey club since the 2006-2007 season and formerly served as its senior director of group sales. In his new role, Hayes will continue to work on developing new corporate relationships, sell group and season ticket packages, and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Crunch. His responsibilities also include overseeing the Crunch Bunch Kids Club and Summer Street Crunch programs.

Smaldon, 27, joined the Crunch before the 2012-13 season. He was previously director of new business development. Smaldon will now be responsible for managing the group sales staff while overseeing group nights and putting together experience packages for local businesses, youth teams, and families. He will continue to work on generating new group sales and sponsorships.

The Syracuse Crunch, the top minor-league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, will hold their 23rd home opener on Saturday.
