SPENCER, N.Y. — Tioga State Bank announced that Wendy Walsh, district manager of the Tioga County Soil and Water Conservation District, has joined the bank’s board of directors.

Walsh graduated from the University at Buffalo with a master’s degree in civil engineering/environmental engineering science. The district hired her in 2000 as the water quality/nutrient management specialist. In 2005, Walsh was promoted to district manager, her current position.

Walsh has been a member of the Upper Susquehanna Coalition (USC) and in 2013, she also took on the additional responsibilities of becoming the USC watershed coordinator. In her current position, she is responsible for all aspects of natural-resource management of environmental and conservation programs on both private and public properties/entities.

Walsh and her family own a farm where they raise and market Angus and Hereford beef cattle, pasture raised pork, and maple syrup direct to local consumers.
