SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Tompkins Community Bank announced that Amy Phelps has joined the bank as a multi-site manager for its two branches in the Syracuse area.

In her new role, Phelps will be responsible for the growth of Tompkins’ Syracuse market alongside existing teams at its City Center (South Salina Street) and Lyndon (Fayetteville) offices.

Prior to Tompkins, Phelps served as a branch manager at KeyBank. She holds certifications in small business and personal lending, loss prevention and asset protection, and business-acumen training, as well as being a notary public, according to a Tompkins Community Bank news release.

Phelps previously worked in specialty retail, managing multiple stores in various markets for more than 20 years, including at Limited Corp and Williams Sonoma Inc.

“Amy’s attention to detail and market-specific needs will undoubtedly be an asset to our teams in Syracuse,” Barb Sroka, a Tompkins Community Bank VP, said in the release. “As a community bank, we are constantly searching for ways to better serve our clients and the communities they work in. We are looking forward to seeing Amy promote new growth within Syracuse.”

Founded in 1836, Ithaca–based Tompkins Community Bank serves the Central, Western, and Hudson Valley regions of New York, and the Southeastern region of Pennsylvania. It is part of Tompkins Financial Corp. (NYSE: TMP), which also includes Tompkins Insurance Agencies and Tompkins Financial Advisors.
