ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins Community Bank announced it has promoted Thomas Cannon to branch manager of its Plaza Office, located on South Meadow Street in Ithaca.

Cannon will be responsible for maintaining and operating the branch while coaching and developing staff, as well as serving as the primary relationship manager for local retail and small-business clients.

Cannon joined Tompkins in 2018 and has worked in various roles, most recently serving as assistant branch manager of the Plaza Office. He has a bachelor’s degree in pre-counseling from Moody Bible Institute and is pursuing an MBA degree at Post University.

“Thomas is a valued and effective member of the Tompkins team. He has worked tirelessly for our customers over the last few years, and his strong leadership abilities and deep community spirit make him an excellent branch manager of our Plaza Office,” Helen Talty, SVP of community banking at Tompkins, contended in a news release.

Cannon, a resident of Cortland, holds a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) certification, and is a certified notary public.

Founded in 1836, Tompkins Community Bank serves the Central, Western, and Hudson Valley regions of New York and the Southeastern region of Pennsylvania. It is part of Tompkins Financial Corp. (NYSE: TMP).
