People news: Tompkins Trust promotes Seals to marketing & community relations officer

ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins Trust Company announced it has promoted Aundre Seals to marketing and community relations officer.

He joined the banking company in February 2018 as a marketing communications business partner.

Seals’ responsibilities include coordinating marketing initiatives, events management, and community and public relations for Central New York. He will also provide marketing support for other community banks throughout the parent Tompkins Financial Corp. (NYSE: TMP) organization.

“Aundre’s marketing expertise and community ties have allowed us to grow in the Ithaca community,” says Abby Peterson, Tompkins Trust’s marketing communications manager. “He is an important contributor to both our corporate strategy as well as to our local community. We are thrilled to elevate his position within the company.”

Seals holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in acting from SUNY Fredonia. He lived and worked in New York City for eight years, managing events and marketing/social media for a diverse range of companies in the hospitality and retail industries.

He has directing credits off-Broadway, with the National Comedy Theatre, and is an active theatre artist in Ithaca, with credits working on stage at both the Kitchen Theatre Company and the Hangar Theatre. Seals has lived in the Ithaca area since September 2015.

Tompkins Trust is the number one bank in the Ithaca metro area — ranked by deposit market share, with a more than 60 percent share of all market deposits — according to FDIC statistics.

Tompkins Financial is a financial-services company, with $6.6 billion in total assets, serving the Central, Western, and Hudson Valley regions of New York and the Southeastern region of Pennsylvania.
