ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins Trust Company announced the retirement of Doug Volpicelli, branch services officer for its Triphammer branch.
Volpicelli first started with Tompkins Trust as a teller in 1984. For the past 32 years, Volpicelli has provided “unrivaled customer service,” the bank said in a news release.
“Doug’s commitment to our customer experience is unmatched,” said Helen Talty, senior VP, manager of community banking. “He is a staple in this community, and we are sad to see him go. We wish Doug all the best in his retirement.”
“Doug is one of a kind and he will truly be impossible to replace,” Greg Hartz, president and CEO of Tompkins Trust, added in the release. “I probably receive more compliments on Doug than any other single employee at Tompkins Trust Company. Customers send emails, or regular letters and many simply make a comment in person.”
Volpicelli’s last day at the Triphammer branch, located at 2251 N. Triphammer Road in the village of Lansing, is next Tuesday (Dec. 13). The bank is holding a retirement party for Volpicelli at the Triphammer branch on Friday (Dec. 9), from 2-4 p.m.
Founded in 1836, Tompkins Trust has 13 branches in Tompkins County, Cortland, Auburn, and Syracuse.
