Tops Friendly Markets announced it has promoted Mike Mastrogiovanni to the position of center store specialist.

Mastrogiovanni, of North Syracuse, will be responsible for the Finger Lakes, Syracuse West, and Southern Tier districts for Tops Friendly Markets. He will oversee all aspects of operations and merchandising for the center store departments within all 31 stores that comprise these districts, according to a Tops news release.

Mastrogiovanni began his career in the supermarket industry 25 years ago as a bagger. Over the years, he advanced his career, holding various positions including store manager, a job he held for the past 15 years. Most recently, he was the manager for the Tops store in Cortland.

Parent company, Tops Markets, LLC is headquartered in Williamsville and operates 159 full-service supermarkets with five additional franchise stores. It does business in New York, northern Pennsylvania, and western Vermont, and has 14,000 employees.
