People news: Van Kuren named to UHS Foundation board

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Laurie Van Kuren of Riger Marketing has been appointed to the UHS Foundation board of trustees. She will help design and achieve the fundraising goals of the foundation.

The nonprofit organization raises more than $1 million a year to improve patient-care facilities, equipment, and programs, it said in a news release.

The UHS Foundation said its mission is to support innovation, service, and quality at UHS by educating the community, attracting donors, and managing gifts wisely. It’s locally owned and governed by an all-volunteer board of directors made up of members of the community.

Van Kuren is the manager of media and account services at Riger Marketing. In business since 1950, Riger is a multi-service marketing-communications agency and serves a variety of business-to-business, financial, health-care, and consumer-oriented accounts.
