People news: Welch joins St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute

DeWITT, N.Y. — St. Joseph’s Health announced that Dr. Thomas J. Welch II had recently joined the St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute in DeWitt, which provides cardiology care to the community.

Welch earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan. Dr. Welch completed a residency at the University of Virginia. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s Health, he served as a fellow at the University of Rochester, focusing on complex coronary intervention and structural heart interventions, St. Joseph’s Health said in a release.

 Dr. Welch is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He specializes in interventional cardiology and is an active member of the American College of Cardiology.

St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute is located at 4939 Brittonfield Pkwy.
