Following law school, he commissioned in the United States Air Force as a judge advocate, where his responsibilities included the prosecution and defense of felony and misdemeanor-level courts-martial and the practice of contract, fiscal, and operational law with U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

He continued his military service after leaving active-duty and is currently a captain in the New York Air National Guard.

Westfall Law is based in the Armory Square area of downtown Syracuse and its law-practice areas include environmental, real estate, business, tax, construction, litigation, estate planning, probate, and immigration, per its website. Melody Westfall is the firm’s managing attorney.
