MANLIUS, N.Y. — The YMCA announced it has named Amber Shannon as associate executive director at the Manlius branch of the Hal Welsh East Area Family YMCA.

Shannon first joined this branch in 2015 as the off-site school age childcare director.

Before joining the nonprofit, Shannon worked in licensed childcare in a variety of roles including her last role as a center director, according to a YMCA news release. She graduated from SUNY Brockport with a bachelor’s degree in physical education as well as a master’s degree in recreation and leisure management, with a minor in nonprofit management.
