Point Place Casino in Bridgeport to formally open March 1, job fair set for Monday

SULLIVAN, N.Y. — The Oneida Indian Nation announced it plans to formally open its $40 million Point Place Casino on March 1 and will hold a job fair for available positions on Monday.

The venue is under construction along Route 31 in the Bridgeport area of the town of Sullivan in Madison County, a few hundred feet from the Cicero border. Construction on the casino started 10 months ago.

The 65,000-square-foot casino will feature a gaming floor with nearly 500 slot machines and 20 table games, the Oneidas said in a news release.

In addition, Point Place Casino will also include two fast-casual restaurants. They are Burgers of Madison County, which offers burgers and milkshakes, and a third location of Wicked Good Pizza, a pizza shop that originated at Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango. Wicked Good Pizza also has a location at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona.

Point Place Casino will feature two bars, the Fireside Lounge and Paddle Bar. It will also introduce a second location of Opals Confectionary, a chocolatier and bakery which also operates at Turning Stone.

The Oneida Nation will hold a job fair for more than 200 permanent positions at Point Place Casino. The event is set for Monday (Jan. 15) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the plaza at the intersection of Route 298 and Route 31.

The available positions include table-game dealers, slot-service representatives, cooks, bartenders, beverage servers, and security officers.
