SALINA — Polaris Library Systems continued growing in 2012 with more than 23 new contracts to date, representing 675 new libraries.
The 675 new libraries the company added so far this year is a 243 percent increase from its total in 2011.
Polaris, based in Salina, provides software that libraries use for everything from tracking borrowings to cataloging. The company employs more than 80 people and works with nearly 2,000 libraries in the U.S. and Canada.
To support its growth this year, Polaris said it has added 16 new employees in areas across its business.
“Polaris welcomes these libraries, and we are excited to be working with each one of them,” Polaris President and CEO Bill Schickling said in a news release. “Our unprecedented success this year is directly related to our focus on delivering superior service and technology solutions to libraries.”
