Potsdam man arrested for making unauthorized purchases on company credit card

POTSDAM, N.Y. — The New York State Police on Tuesday arrested James D. Spear, age 52, of Potsdam, after an investigation revealed that he made several unauthorized purchases on a company credit card while working for the North Country Housing Council.

The purchases occurred between November 2017 and January 2019, and the amount exceeded $3,000.

Spear was charged with 3rd degree grand larceny, a felony. He was arraigned in the Canton Town Court and released under the supervision of the probation department, the State Police said.
