NEW HARTFORD — The Utica National Group Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to Presbyterian Home in New Hartford for its telemedicine program.

The funds will be used in the ongoing support of the telemedicine program, which allows patients with Parkinson’s disease to access neurologists from the University of Rochester and Johns Hopkins via technology.

“We are pleased to support this and we recognize the unique and innovative work that Presbyterian Home does in helping people with movement disorders, particularly with this telemedicine program, which enables people with impaired or excess movement to interact with highly qualified specialists without having to endure the lengthy travel involved,” Michael Austin, chairman of the Utica National Group Foundation, said in a release.
