DeWITT — Profit at Anaren, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANEN) rose 16 percent during the company’s fiscal first quarter to $2.9 million.
Earnings per share for the period, which closed Sept. 30, rose to 21 cents, up from 17 cents a year earlier. Net sales in the first quarter rose 0.9 percent to $39.1 million, driven mainly by an increase in the company’s space and defense business.
DeWitt–based Anaren (NASDAQ: ANEN) employs about 800 people. The company develops and manufactures components and subsystems for markets including satellite communications, defense, and wireless communications.
