PSC schedules Syracuse-area meetings on National Grid rate changes

The New York State Public Service Commission is preparing to hold two public-statement hearings in the Syracuse area on a proposal to change National Grid’s electric and gas rates.

Under a joint proposal, National Grid would modify its electric and gas rates over three years. Individual customers could experience different rate changes.

The utility company’s overall electric revenue would drop 6.2 percent in the first year before rising 1.9 percent in each of the second and third years. Its overall gas revenue would decrease by 4.3 percent in the first year and increase 2.9 percent in the second and third years.
