Pulaski Health Center adds pediatrician

PULASKI, N.Y. — Northern Oswego County Health Services, Inc. (NOCHSI) has added a pediatrician to its services at the Pulaski Health Center.

Dr. Megan Pecha (pictured to the right) previously practiced at NOCHSI’s Sandy Creek Central School–based health center during the 2013-2014 school year.

She provides care for newborns to young adults up to age 21, NOCHSI said in a news release. The services include newborn care, well-child checks, physicals, and diagnostic services.

Prior to joining NOCHSI, Pecha served as a faculty member and practiced in the department of pediatrics in the State University of New York Upstate Medical University, according to the release.

NOCHSI also announced that Valerie Salazar (pictured below to the right), a family nurse practitioner, has succeeded Dr. Pecha in providing primary-care services to students at the Sandy Creek Central School–based health center.

Salazar previously served as school nurse at the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (APW) Central School District and as a registered nurse at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, according to the NOCHSI press release.

NOCHSI operates health centers in Fulton, Mexico, Oswego, Parish, Phoenix, and Pulaski, and six school-based health centers located in the APW, Mexico, Pulaski, and Sandy Creek school districts.

The health centers are “family-oriented health-care practices” that provide Oswego, Northern Onondaga, and Southern Jefferson County residents with health-care and related services, NOCHSI said.
