Raymour & Flanigan announces new company president

CLAY, N.Y. — Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and Mattresses announced it has named Seth Goldberg as its next president.

Goldberg is replacing his father, Neil Goldberg, who has served as president and CEO since 1982. Neil Goldberg will now serve as chairman and CEO.

At the same time, Neil Goldberg’s brother, Steven Goldberg, and cousin, Michael Goldberg, who have been serving as executive VP, will become vice chairmen.

Neil, Steven, and Michael Goldberg will remain “actively involved” in leading the retailer as they continue to work with Seth Goldberg and his siblings Adam Goldberg, Shira Boschan, and Jared Boschan to “position the company for long-term success.”

“Since Seth joined us, he has made it his mission to learn every aspect of our business,” Neil Goldberg said in a release. “He has worked closely with teammates across the organization, fostering genuine relationships while earning the respect of our 6,000 associates. Seth grew up in this business and understands the importance of valuing each associate and treating our customers well. We are so excited to see him carry on our family legacy.”

Clay–based Raymour & Flanigan describes itself as the largest furniture and mattress retailer in the Northeast and seventh largest nationwide.

Seth Goldberg — a third-generation member of the family business — previously held the role of senior VP of marketing, e-commerce and information technology. In that role, he helped lead the company’s “rapid expansion across digital platforms while growing its large and loyal customer base.”

He joined Raymour & Flanigan in 2008 after graduating from Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. The new company president worked at the retailer while pursuing higher education and “developed operational expertise.”

“I am honored and humbled to continue working with my family members and our talented, hard-working teammates as we carry the trusted Raymour & Flanigan brand into the future,” Seth Goldberg said. “We will always honor and respect our company’s history while we evolve and innovate to ensure long-term success.”

Established in Syracuse in 1947, the retailer has 103 showrooms across the Northeast, 35 outlet stores, five clearance centers, and a “rapidly growing” e-commerce business.
