The Residence Inn by Marriott is a 78-room hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott is a 102-room hotel.
The combined hotel property is the first newly constructed hotel in downtown Syracuse in more than 50 years, New Castle Hotels & Resorts, the Shelton, Conn.–based operator of the hotels, contends.
The nearly $30 million project was also the largest, non-office building new construction project in downtown Syracuse in more than 25 years, New Castle said.
Speakers from the hotel owner, the Inns at Armory Square, LLC; New Castle Hotels & Resorts; Marriott International; and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner offered comments during the grand-opening ceremony.
