MARCY — The State University of New York (SUNY) Board of Trustees has appointed Robert E. Geer as acting president of SUNYIT.
Geer has served since 2007 as vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer, as well as professor of nanoscale science, at the UAlbany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, and has taught at UAlbany since 1996. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University (Ohio) and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
Geer’s appointment at SUNYIT is effective Aug. 1, at an annual salary of $220,000, according to a SUNY news release.
