Rochester’s HCR Home Care to expand further in Central New York

HCR Home Care, a Rochester–based home-care agency, has plans to expand into Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, and Jefferson counties.

It already operates locations in Cortland and Madison counties in Central New York, according to its website.

The New York State Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC) today approved HCR’s certificate of need application for that expansion, the company said in a news release.

The PHHPC is part of the New York State Department of Health.

The decision creates “more choice” for home care in the region, Louise Woerner, executive chairman of HCR Home Care, said in the news release.

“Through our expansion, we will be able to help build the health-care workforce to meet the growing demand for community-based, home-health services. People in these areas will have more options when it comes to selecting their home-care agency. Our expansion not only will increase patient choice, but also improve access to care and quality,” Woerner said.

In addition to Cortland and Madison counties, HCR Home Care also operates offices in Monroe, Genesee, Orleans, Schoharie, Delaware, and Clinton counties, its website says.

Founded in 1978, HCR Home Care provides nursing and rehabilitation services, and specialty-care programs, according to its website.
