The foundation awarded $5,000 to the New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund for two black granite benches for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Freedom Park in Camden.
In addition, Project Fibonacci will use a $2,025 grant for audio-visual equipment. The foundation also awarded the Rome Art Association $975 for bookcases and paint to enhance its rented space at the Capitol Arts Complex.
The organization’s board of directors approved the funding at its September meeting based on the recommendations of the foundation’s grant committee, Victor J. Fariello Jr., the executive director of the Rome Community Foundation, said.
The organization’s board members meet four times a year to review grant proposals for projects that benefit Rome–area residents, per a Rome Community Foundation news release.
